Lisa Smith is a mixed media artist and illustrator who lives in Hayle, Cornwall with her creative family, her husband John, Creative Director of Blumin and budding artist daughter, Amber.

She grew up in a highly creative atmosphere with both her father being an artist and her mother having her own craft business. After studying art at college, she maintained painting and illustrating on a commission basis as a hobby until 2010 when she started work at Blumin, where she has been commissioned professionally for businesses, including illustrations for restaurants and the local Hayle Town Council website.

Lisa was also part of a collaboration of artists exhibiting in Altrincham for the 2012 exhibition ‘Around The World in 80 Artists’.

She has skills within a range of media; coloured pencil, pastel pencils, oils and acrylics – however, the fluidity of ink and watercolour is her preferred area. She likes to mix media and more recent works have even involved Cornish seasalt and seawater!

She is inspired by nature, the beautiful Cornwall landscape and coastline, she delights in capturing nature or creatures ‘in the moment’ where there is beauty, imperfections, movement and humour to be found.
